Independent Economy in Sungai Payang

The community of Sungai Panyang Village operates a business unit with a net profit of up to IDR 600 million. This unit runs six main business lines, including palm fruit bunch and coal transportation, intermediary services for fuel management, branch banking services, and more. Recognizing the village’s development potential within its operational area, PT MHU, in collaboration with PT Niagamas Gemilang, initiated a compost factory development project to expand the village business unit’s production scale. PT MHU also serves as the off-taker of the compost fertilizer produced, which is used for revegetation on reclamation lands. This program also involves the Regency Government, the Regional Research Council, and the Faculty of Agriculture, Kutai Kartanegara University.
