Jakarta – PT MMS Group Indonesia (MMSGI), a business group in the energy and property sectors, reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability. At the CSR Awards 2024: Impact Symphony at the Aryaduta Hotel in Jakarta on Thursday evening (October 24th), MMSGI received the "Most Impactful Program Prosperity" award from Investortrust.id and the Bumi Global Karbon Foundation for its contributions to improving community welfare and protecting the environment through social responsibility programs.
Through its subsidiary, PT Multi Harapan Utama (MHU), MMSGI implements CSR programs that have a tangible impact on the communities surrounding its operations. This award is based on criteria for companies that have prepared a Sustainability Report and transparently report the Social Return on Investment (SROI) of their CSR programs in accordance with the international standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
Margareta, representing the MMSGI Board of Directors, stated that this award demonstrates MMSGI's commitment to social responsibility. "This award reflects the hard work of the MMSGI team and our solid collaboration with partners and stakeholders. MMSGI is committed not only to economic growth but also to environmental sustainability and community empowerment," she said.
MMSGI's partnership with Payang Sejahtera Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDesa) is one of the key programs that has successfully increased BUMDes revenue from Rp 4.6 billion in 2019 to Rp 27.6 billion in 2023, with an SROI of 4.27, indicating the program's success and feasibility. This program includes business development such as a compost factory, catering services, laundry, housekeeping, and the construction of a Water Treatment Plant (WTP). In addition, BUMDesa also contributes to social activities, such as distributing basic necessities and providing sacrificial animals for the surrounding community.
In assisting BUMDesa Payang Sejahtera, MMSGI also supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) such as Villages Without Hunger (SDG 2), Quality Education (SDG 4), Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), and Village Economic Growth (SDG 8).
In addition to partnering with Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes), MMSGI also manages other CSR programs such as Package A, B, and C equivalency education, a community-based carpentry industry utilizing local wood, and sustainable livestock groups. These programs are designed using the Sustainable Livelihood Approach (SLA) and are periodically evaluated using the SROI method, ensuring improvements in the community's quality of life.
